Extracurricular and Special Activities

The Learning Express offers a variety of activities that take place throughout the year.

Some activities take place at the center while others are through outside programs that may require an additional fee.

Classes offered by outside programs are open to children 2 years and older.

Extracurricular Programs

These programs cost an additional fee and are independent of our center. Payments must be made directly to them.

Dance Class

A variety of dance classes are offered to TLE families. Admins walk the children next door to LKNGA on Friday mornings.

Gymnastics Class

Gymnastics classes are offered to TLE families. Admins walk the children next door to LKNGA on Thursday afternoons.

Soccer Classes

Soccer Shots is offered on our playground once a week during spring, summer, fall, and winter sessions.

Computer Class

STEM education classes are provided by Mr. Bill twice a month at our center. Children are introduced to computer use, robotics, and other technology.

Contact Mr. Bill to sign up. Classes are $20 per month.

Center Hosted Activities & Events

These are just a few examples of center hosted activities and events that take place throughout the year.

Fun Fridays

Every Friday a special theme or activity takes place. The children and staff are encouraged to participate.

Some examples include Silly Sock Day, Crazy Hair Day, and Polar Express Day.

Community Helper Visits

During community helpers' month, we invite local first responders and other community helpers to visit the center and teach the children about safety and the importance of their jobs.

Some visits include the local fire department and EMS.

Kona Ice Truck

During the summer, we invite the Kona Ice truck to visit the center each week.

All ages can participate with parent/guardian permission.

Seasonal Festivals

In the fall or winter, TLE hosts a fall festival or jolly jamboree where vendors can set up and the children can participate in various games and activities.

These events are fundraisers for the center.

Pre-Kindergarten Field Trips

Each year, the Pre-Kindergarteners take a field trip to the pumpkin patch in the fall and Lazy 5 Ranch in the spring.

Parent/guardian chaperones are required.

Pre-Kindergarten Graduation

Each summer, TLE hosts a pre-kindergarten graduation. The Pre-Kindergarteners show all everything they've learned throughout the year.

Each child will receive a diploma and a candy related superlative.

We've had 2 children at The Learning Express since January and can't say enough good things about the director, assistant director, and staff. They know every child and truly care about them as if they were their own. They are very communicative about each child's progress and needs. My kids loved all their teachers and enjoyed all the friends they made.
